Sophia Johnson, LPN
Director of Utilization Review
As the Director of Utilization Review, Sophia provides supervision and direction to the Utilization Review staff to ensure that quality care is deliver to our patients. She works directly with the physicians, admissions, nursing, and clinical staff to ensure all physical, mental, and emotional needs are met. Sophia and her staff are champions of concurrent, retrospective, and appeal reviews with insurance payers as active advocates for our patients to ensure care needs are met and cover by the payer.
Sophia began her career with the facility in 2014 as a Utilization Review Specialist and promoted in 2016 to the Director of Utilization Review. She utilized her dedication and passion as a nurse about helping others to drive her efforts in her day-to-day initiatives. She has strong communication and listening skills that have afford her great success in her field.
Sophia graduated from Delta College in 2012 as a license practical nurse. She has experience working with adults, geriatrics, and adolescent population. She also has experience in acute medical, acute psychiatric, long term psychiatric, substance abuse residential, and home health setting. Her favorite quote is from Maya Angelou “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel”.
